WHO WE ARE

This website is operated by ALEIKOAT SURFCAMP MENTAWAI, Pulau Libbut, Dusun Magilik, Desa Katurei, Kec. Siberut Barat Daya, Kab. Kep. Mentawai, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. If you have questions about your data, write to info@aleikoatmentawai.com. What data we collect and why:

      1. INQUIRIES and BOOKINGS
        When you contact us by form, email, WhatsApp or social media, we use your name, contact details, travel dates and the information you share to answer your inquiry and organise your stay. For confirmed bookings we also keep the details needed for invoicing and payment by bank transfer.
      2. TRAVEL HELP
        If you ask us to assist with transport, we may pass your name and travel dates to our partners (for example boat operators) so they can arrange your trip. 
      3. WEBSITE VISITS
        Our hosting provider Neue Medien Muennich records technical data such as your IP address, browser, and the time and pages of your visit. We use it to keep the site secure and running. This is automatically deleted after 7 days.
      4. GUEST REVIEWS
        Our reviews are shown through Trustindex and come from Google. When this feature loads, your browser connects to these providers, who may process data under their own policies.
      5. PHOTOS and VIDEOS
        We only publish images of guests with their consent.

    LEGAL BASIS

    We process your data to respond to your request and carry out a booking (contract or pre-contract steps).

    COOKIES

    We use cookies to run the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may then not work properly.

    EMBEDDED VIDEOS (YOUTUBE)

    Our homepage contains a video from YouTube, a service provided by Google. When you open the page, your browser connects to YouTube’s servers, and YouTube may receive data such as your IP address and set cookies on your device. If you are logged in to a YouTube or Google account, this can be linked to your profile. We use YouTube to show you video content about our camp.     WHO RECEIVES YOUR DATA

    Only service providers that help us run the website, take bookings or organise your trip, such as hosting, form and email services, Trustindex and transport partners. We do not sell your data. Some of these providers are outside your country, including outside the EU.

    HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

    Inquiries are deleted after 6 months if no booking follows. Booking and invoice data is kept as long as accounting rules require.

    YOUR RIGHTS

    You can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

    LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

    Our website contains links to third-party sites, for example to transport providers such as Mentawai Connect and Mentawai Fast and to the Indonesian immigration portal for visa applications. These sites are run by other parties, and their privacy practices may differ from ours. Once you leave our website, their own privacy policies apply, so we recommend reading them before you share any personal data. We have no influence on how these sites handle your data and are not responsible for their content.
